STEPS YOU NEED TO KNOW WITH WEDDINGS
First steps...
Your Wedding Journey with Me
Obligation-Free First Meeting
We start with a relaxed chat about your ceremony. This first meeting is all about getting to know each other—because for a beautiful bond, we both need to click! We’ll discuss your vision, the legal requirements, and how I can help make your day truly yours.
Booking Your Ceremony
If you decide to proceed, we complete the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) together and secure your date with a 50% non-refundable booking fee. Once booked, I provide all the resources you need for your type of ceremony.
Legal Requirements
The NOIM is the first legal step and must be lodged at least 30 days before your wedding, but no more than 18 months in advance. You’ll need:
Original birth certificate or passport for proof of birth
Photo ID (driver’s licence or similar)
Divorce papers if previously married, or death certificate if widowed
I handle the lodgement with Births, Deaths & Marriages (BDM) to make it stress-free.
Rehearsals (For The Short and Sweet and Fully Bespoke Ceremonies)
1–2 weeks before the wedding, we can have a full rehearsal with your bridal party. We’ll review the script, go through timing, music, and party placement, and ensure everything flows perfectly.
If you prefer, we can do a short rehearsal just for the couple. Travel fees may apply outside 30 km from Kurmond.
Your Big Day
I arrive early to set up, check the sound system, and ensure everything is in place. I’ll greet you and your loved ones, finalise any forms, and guide you through your ceremony. Your official and commemorative marriage certificates are signed on the day by you, your witnesses, and me.
After the Ceremony
I finalise all legal paperwork and register your marriage with BDM. If requested, I can apply for your Official Marriage Certificate on your behalf, which arrives within 7–10 working days—ready for any name changes.
Visiting from Overseas?
All parties require original ID: passports or birth certificates, plus divorce/death certificates if applicable. Overseas documents must be translated and certified.
